First mentioned in a document in 1630, the mill changed several proprietors before passing over to our father Anton Profanter in the year 1956.
In 1962, the mill burnt completely down leaving behind just the old mill wheel and some millstones. Anton and his wife Zita started the reconstruction. A new private home rose, too, with the attachment of some guest rooms. In the following years several enlargements and renovations were carried out giving origin to a small but fine Pension. The basis for the today’s building of the Pension Profanter was laid down. We look back giving thanks to our deceased mother Zita Profanter for her tireless diligence and effort through decades-long work leading this business into a determined successful direction.
The enlargement and the restructuring of the bar, the rooms, the sauna and the steam bath were made in spring 1995. The renovating works for the swimming pool and the gardens were concluded with success in 1998. Since 2006, after a generation change, the family concern is run by Günther Profanter and his wife Erika. |
